Michael Frontz is a board-certified forensic toxicologist with more than three decades of experience in analytical toxicology across public, private, and academic settings. Through Baseline Toxicology, LLC, he provides independent consultation to legal professionals in matters involving the interpretation of toxicological evidence.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Frontz has held technical and leadership roles in postmortem, human performance, and clinical toxicology laboratories. His experience includes extensive bench-level toxicology work, research and method development, and over 19 years service at the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office. He has also served as a drug chemist with the Bexar County Crime Lab and as a certified Technical Supervisor for the Texas Department of Public Safety Breath Alcohol Testing Laboratory.
Mr. Frontz is an active contributor to the forensic science community and has served in leadership, accreditation, and evaluation roles at the regional and national level. His professional activities include authorship and co-authorship of peer-reviewed publications and ongoing involvement in forensic toxicology education and standards-based practice.
His consulting work emphasizes independent analysis, methodological transparency, and clear communication of scientific findings in a legal context.
